The accused, a 39-year-old farmer and petty dealer is from Awo Idemili, Osu LGA of Imo State, however resides at Adagbe Village, Abagana with her husband and three different youngsters, aged seven, 5 and two.
The girl claimed she adopted all the kids from completely different areas in Anambra State as a result of she doesn’t have organic youngsters.
Speaking after interrogating the suspect, the Commissioner defined that the rescue was made doable following complaints by involved residents who reported the maltreatment, hunger and abuse at child division of the ministry.
“I have to deploy a team from the ministry to Abagana in other to rescue the remaining children. I assure you, we will make sure this matter is investigated to assertain the sources where the children were adopted from, for subsequent prosecution of the lady by the police.” she acknowledged.
The matter has been reported to Police Area Command, Awka for investigation.
