BREAKING: Court docket Restrains INEC From Deregistering 31 Political Events

A Federal Excessive Court docket presided over by Justice Anwuli Chikere has restrained Impartial Nationwide Electoral Fee (INEC) from deregistering 31 political events.

Justice Chikere, in her ruling in Abuja on Monday, mentioned having did not counter the applying by the candidates, the affected political events had the authorized proper which have to be protected.

INEC had earlier on February 6 deregistered 74 political events for failing to win elections.

Chairman of the fee, Professor Mahmood Yakubu had disclosed that the motion was carried out after a evaluation of the efficiency of political events after the 2019 basic elections to see which events qualify to exists.
