The Federal Authorities has added two extra international locations to the checklist of high-risk international locations following the outbreak of coronavirus.

The international locations embrace Austria and Sweden.

The Minister of Well being, Dr Osagie Ehanire made the announcement at a media briefing on Friday in Abuja.

“We have identified two more high risks countries – Austria and Sweden which were added in the past 24 hours to the list,” Ehanire mentioned.

He added that there at the moment are confirmed 12 instances of COVID-19 in Nigeria, out of which 9 are in Lagos State.



The Federal Authorities had earlier on Wednesday issued a journey ban on 13 international locations over the COVID-19 pandemic.

The affected international locations are the USA of America, the UK,  China, Japan, Iran, Switzerland, Norway, Netherland, France, South Korea, Germany, Italy, and Spain.

The addition of two new international locations will increase the variety of high-risk international locations listed by the Federal Authorities to be 15.
