BREAKING: Sanwo-Olu Signs Anti-Open Grazing Bill Into Law

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has signed the invoice prohibiting open grazing in Lagos into legislation.

The governor assented to the invoice on the Lagos House on Monday.

This is coming 11 days after the State House of Assembly handed the invoice that prohibits open cattle grazing within the state.

After passing the invoice on September 9, the Speaker, Mudashiru Obasa recommended his colleagues for his or her ardour to see that the state continues to develop.

The concern of open-grazing has been a delicate one within the nation because it has created a rift between the southern governors and pastoralists.

As a part of measures to include the killings, the southern governors met in Lagos on July 5 and had far-reaching conclusions on open grazing, restructuring Nigeria, and requires state police.

After the assembly, the Chairman of the Southern Governors Forum, Rotimi Akeredolu, mentioned the governors agreed on a deadline for the promulgation of anti-open grazing legislation amongst its member states.
