Coronavirus: Drama As Reps Reject Motion To Evacuate Nigerians In China

Lawmakers within the House of Representatives on Tuesday rejected a movement to evacuate Nigerians allegedly stranded in China following the outbreak of the Coronavirus.

According to lawmakers who voted massively in opposition to the movement raised by the spokesperson of the home, Benjamin Okezie, China has higher services to deal with the state of affairs than Nigeria.

Despite efforts by the Speaker of the House, Femi Gbajabiamila to calm the lawmakers and permit Mr Okezie to maneuver his movement, the lawmakers denied him the chance.

Drama ensued when two different sponsors of the invoice who had been meant to help the movement, declined to second the movement to be moved.
