Coronavirus: US Offers China, Others $100m To Fight Epidemic

The United States on Friday provided as much as $100 million to China and different impacted international locations to fight the fast-spreading coronavirus.

“This commitment — along with the hundreds of millions generously donated by the American private sector — demonstrates strong US leadership in response to the outbreak,” Secretary of State Mike Pompeo stated in a press release.

“We encourage the rest of the world to match our commitment. Working together, we can have a profound impact to contain this growing threat,” he stated.

Pompeo, who has regularly criticized China on points from human rights to its abroad infrastructure spending, stated the United States would supply the help both straight or via multilateral organizations.
