COVID-19: Akwa Ibom To Set Up Emergency Response Task Force In Local Governments


Akwa Ibom Authorities has concluded preparations to arrange COVID-19 Emergency Response Process Pressure in all of the 31 Native Authorities Areas of the state.

The Commissioner for Well being, Dr. Dominic Ukpong, disclosed this at a gathering with the Akwa Ibom COVID-19 Incident Administration Committee (IMC) held at Ibom Specialist Hospital, Uyo.

The commissioner stated that the COVID-19 Emergency Response Process Pressure could be inaugurated within the 31 Native Authorities Areas within the state.

Dr Ukpong stated organising of emergency response process pressure was one of many measures to observe and promptly report suspected instances of the novel coronavirus pandemic to curb the unfold.

In line with him, all Council Chairmen have been directed to arrange an Emergency Response Taskforce earlier than the state recorded its first index case.

He expressed considerations over non compliance by some native authorities areas.

The Well being Commissioner stated, “the State Authorities will not be relenting in its effort in combating the unfold of the virus, including that fast response to suspected instances of COVID-19 was important to controlling the pandemic.

Ukpong, who can also be the chairman, state Incident Administration Committee (IMC), urged the 31 native authorities areas, but to arrange the emergency process pressure to take action instantly.

Ukpong famous that the Emergency Response Process pressure in all of the native authorities areas would work with the State IMC on COVID-19 to make sure a collaborative response.
