COVID-19: Lagos Govt Starts House-To-House ‘Active Case Search’

The Lagos Authorities has began a house-to-house “Active Case Search” to detect potential instances of COVID-19 within the state. 

This was revealed by the Lagos State Commissioner for Well being, Prof. Akin Abayomi, throughout a joint ministerial press briefing on COVID-19 intervention within the state on Thursday.

In keeping with Prof. Abayomi, the “Active Case Search” began on Monday, April 6 2020 and can run for 2 weeks.

The commissioner defined that through the search, well being staff will go from home to deal with, together with well being services, to manage questionnaires to residents of the state.

Prof. Abayomi famous that the inquiries to be administered to residents shall be based mostly on COVID-19 signs and revealed that the officers who will perform the train shall be placing on the #COVID19Lagos Intervention Response tags and letter from the the native authorities.

“In the coming days, some of our health workers will be moving around in pairs to administer an electronic questionnaire at homes and healthcare facilities to make enquiries about symptoms of cough, cold and fever,” Prof. Abayomi famous.

“This is in a bid to intensify our search for possible cases of COVID-19 in different communities across the State. I implore you to give them your maximum support by providing accurate information that would help in containing this pandemic quickly.”
