The police in Delta State have accused the 28-year-old man reportedly killed by a soldier within the Warri space of the state of disobeying the directives of the Nigerian Military.

Joseph Pessu was mentioned to have been shot at Ugbuwangue group in Warri South Native Authorities Space (LGA) of the state.

The incident occurred on Thursday, on the second day of the lockdown directive issued by the state governor, Ifeanyi Okowa.

Talking with Channels Tv on Friday, the Commissioner of Police, Hafiz Inuwa, defined that the deceased was driving by way of a roadblock mounted by the military.

Inuwa mentioned Pessu was requested to cease his automobile however he disobeyed, resulting in him being chased after earlier than he was ultimately shot.

He added that the Delta State Police Command has launched an investigation into the unlucky incident.
