Delta Workers To Receive New Minimum Wage From January

The Delta State Government has reached an settlement with the organised labour on the brand new nationwide minimal wage of N30,000 for employees within the state.

The Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Mr Chiedu Ebie, who’s the Chairman of the Negotiation Committee disclosed this on Friday after signing the minimal wage paperwork on behalf of the state authorities.

Ebie mentioned the implementation of the minimal wage would begin from November 1, 2019.

He added that the state authorities would begin fee from January and pay the arrears of the brand new minimal wage with the January and February salaries.

The SSG gave an assurance that Governor Ifeanyi Okowa would proceed to prioritise the welfare of employees within the state.
