Drama As Kwara Assembly Disowns PDP Member-Elect

 

A drama performed out on Tuesday on the Kwara State House of Assembly in Ilorin, the state capital.

This adopted two court docket judgements delivered in favour of a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Jimoh Agboola, that he gained the March 9 Ilorin South Constituency election.

Agboola defeated Abdulazeez Elewu of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in court docket to win the Ilorin South Constituency seat within the Assembly.

However, he was denied entry into the legislative chamber by officers of the House regardless of presenting his Certificate of Return to them.

 

The PDP member had been to the House on three cases however was denied entry on every event.

In view of this, his lawyer, Oladipupo Aborishade, engaged members of the House on why his consumer was denied entry regardless of the supply of the certificates of return.

One of the lawmakers who represented the Speaker, Tayo Awodiji, defined that the House has but to obtain official communication from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

He added that till that was accomplished, Agboola wouldn’t be granted entry to the Assembly or sworn in as a lawmaker.
