EFCC Arrests Ex-Governor’s Son, Audu Over Alleged Fraud

 

The Financial and Monetary Crimes Fee (EFCC) has arrested Mr Muhammed Audu for his alleged involvement in a fraud.

Muhammed is the son of the late Abubakar Audu, a former governor of Kogi State.

EFCC’s Performing Head of Media and publicity, Mr Tony Orilade, confirmed the arrest of the previous governor’s son in an announcement on Thursday.

In keeping with him, the suspect was arrested on February 18 for allegedly diverting funds to the tune of a number of hundreds of thousands of dollars and billions of naira.

The EFCC alleged that Muhammed diverted the funds which have been donated to the Nigerian Soccer Federation (NFF) to his private use.

Investigations, in accordance with the assertion, revealed that the suspect allegedly used two of his firms, Mediterranean Motels Restricted and Mediterranean Sports activities, to divert the monies which he couldn’t account for.

It added that Muhammed could be charged to courtroom as quickly the investigations have been concluded.
