Fernandinho Extends Man City Deal Until 2021

Fernandinho has signed a one-year contract extension with Manchester City, the English Premier League champions introduced on Tuesday.

The 34-year-old Brazil midfielder, whose earlier deal was as a consequence of expire on the finish of the season, is now set to remain on the Etihad Stadium till 2021.

Fernandinho has been a City mainstay since his arrival in a £30 million ($39 million, 35 million euros) transfer from Shakhtar Donetsk in 2013.

“This is the best possible news,” stated Fernandinho. “I have enjoyed every second of my time at City.

“I never expected to build such a meaningful relationship with the club and the fans, but it has happened, and I am grateful every single day.”

Although primarily a defensive midfielder, Fernandinho has spent a lot of this season taking part in at centre-back due to City’s lack of canopy in that space.

Fernandinho has gained three Premier League titles and 4 English League Cups since becoming a member of City, however he missed final season’s FA Cup last victory as a consequence of damage.
