FG Condemns Murder Of Policemen, Says Perpetrators Will Face Justice

The Federal Government has condemned the latest homicide of two policemen within the South-East, warning that those that carried out the killings can be apprehended and delivered to justice.

Lai Mohammed, the Minister of Information and Culture, gave the reassurance throughout a press convention in Lagos on Monday.

Although the Anambra State Police Command had stated two officers have been attacked within the state over the weekend and their our bodies burnt afterward, Mohammed, nonetheless, was not particular if the November 27 assault was the identical as that which happened in Anambra.

In an announcement issued by his spokesman, Segun Adeyemi, the Minister described the kidnapping of three policemen and the killing of two of them as probably the most horrific and barbaric, saying it was an unacceptable assault towards the state.

“We have credible information that ASP Francis Idoko (AP No. 154945); Inspector Emmanuel Akubo (AP No. 222336) and Inspector Rufai Adamu (AP. No. 285009), all serving officers of the Nigeria Police, were abducted by members of the Eastern Security Network (ESN), acting on the instructions of their leader, Chinonso Okafor, aka TEMPLE, on 27 November 2021,” the Minister stated.

“Two of the officers, Inspectors Akubo and Adamu, were killed in the most gruesome manner and their decapitated bodies videotaped and circulated widely. The leader of the ESN team that killed the two officers is one ‘GENTLE’.

“Chinonso Okafor, the most influential commander of ESN in charge of Imo and Anambra States, as well as ‘Gentle’ and all those who perpetrated the abhorrent act will be made to face swift and sure justice.”

He famous that the focusing on and killing of safety brokers, below any guise, is a direct assault on the state and won’t be tolerated.

The Minister questioned why these calling for a political answer to the IPOB situation have but to sentence the appalling homicide of serving cops.

He equally paid tribute to the officers, who made the supreme sacrifice within the service of their fatherland, in addition to all safety brokers who’re serving the nation to the most effective of their talents in a most troublesome second.

Mohammed condoled with the households of the slain officers, praying that God will consolation and strengthen them.
