Four Children Among 18 Killed In Sudan Military Plane Crash

 

Four kids had been amongst 18 individuals killed Thursday when a Sudanese navy transport airplane crashed after takeoff from West (*18*) state, a military spokesman stated.

The airplane crashed 5 minutes after takeoff from an airport within the state capital El Geneina, after delivering assist to the world, which had been hit by current lethal tribal combating.

“An Antonov 12 military plane crashed Thursday night after take off from El Geneina killing its seven-member crew, three judges and eight civilians, including four children, who were on board,” the spokesman Amer Mohammed Al-Hassan stated.

He stated an investigation was underway to find out the reason for the crash.

Most of Sudan’s navy and civilian fleet consists of previous Soviet-made plane, and the nation has suffered a sequence of crashes in recent times, with the navy often blaming technical issues and unhealthy climate.

Earlier a navy supply instructed AFP the airplane had delivered assist to West (*18*) which was rocked earlier this week by lethal tribal clashes.

At least 48 individuals have been killed and 241 wounded in that violence, based on Sudan’s Red Crescent.

It stated the armed clashes broke out on Sunday night time in El Geneina, and continued till Monday between Arab and African teams, with a number of homes torched.
