INEC Presents Certificates Of Return To PDP’s Douye Diri

The Impartial Nationwide Electoral Fee (INEC) has offered the Certificates of Return to Senator Douye Diri.

Diri’s deputy, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo was additionally offered his certificates of return.

INEC Chairman, Mahmood Yakubu informed journalists that Diri was declared the winner after prime officers met on Friday morning to evaluation the outcomes of the election, with out the votes of the APC which have been voided by the courtroom.

“The entire votes forged after excluding these of the APC now stand at 146,999. PDP polled 143,172 and scored 25 p.c as required by the regulation,” Yakubu stated in the course of the briefing.

A five-man panel of the apex courtroom led by Justice Mary Peter-Odili then ordered the INEC to withdraw the Certificates of Return issued to the APC candidate.
