A 24-year-old pregnant lady has been killed by Lassa Fever in Enugu State.
The lady died on Thursday on the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN) Teaching Hospital in Enugu State.
This was confirmed by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health, Dr Ifeanyi Agujiobi. He disclosed to journalists within the state that the affected person introduced the case of full-blown signs of Lassa fever and subsequently couldn’t be saved.

He, nevertheless, assured that efforts have been put in place to decontaminate all sections of the hospital that the affected person was managed together with the ICU unit.
Agujiobi added that the state authorities has supplied 20 new particular emergency services throughout the state to take care of the problems of Lassa fever.
The Commissioner for Education, Uche Eze, mentioned large sensitisation applications is ongoing within the colleges to enlighten youngsters concerning the an infection and preventive measures.
