Lucas Torreira reveals he doesn’t want to play in Europe anymore

Lucas Torreira has revealed he has no intentions of returning to Arsenal following the expiration of his mortgage transfer to Atletico Madrid and as an alternative desires to transfer to Boca Juniors.

The Uruguayan took half in a candid interview in which he mentioned the current dying of his mom due to coronavirus.

The 25-year-old was granted particular dispensation from Atletico to fly residence following the information and he’s now confirmed he has no intentions of enjoying in Europe past the tip of this season, with a switch to Boca Juniors his most well-liked transfer.

“I always said that I wanted to play in Boca,” he stated as reported by Marca. “I am dying to play in Boca and I will always say it. Not only for my moment. But it is now, it is in June and I always wanted to play in Boca. I’m dying to play in Boca.

“The night time my mom died and one of many first to obtain the information was my consultant. I do not want to play in Europe anymore, I want to play in Boca.”

Despite clearly not wanting to extend his stay with Atleti, Torreira was full of praise for the La Liga outfit where he’s currently playing on loan from Arsenal, and he applauded boss Diego Simeone for showing compassion in the decision to let him fly home.

“I requested for a license at Atlético de Madrid, Cholo [Diego Simeone] understood every thing and so they gave me per week, however I requested to keep a bit of longer,” he added. “On Sunday I’m most likely touring. I’ve to do my obligation and life should proceed. Atlético was excellent to me and it is essential.”

Torreira went on to add that his decision to move back to South America was also partly driven by football. The Uruguay international explained he hasn’t enjoyed his football for nearly two years and that he now wants to leave Europe for good.

“It’s been two years since I had fun personally, with out continuity, Arsenal harm me and at Atletico I do not play as I want,” he stated.
