Sanwo-Olu Launches Body Cameras For Lagos Law Enforcement Officers

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Wednesday launched physique cameras for safety businesses within the effort to boost safety and security within the state.

The governor through the unveiling on the Government House in Alausa introduced that legislation enforcement officers within the state will now make use of physique cameras whereas discharging their duties.

He stated using the cameras will assist present first-hand proof within the case of any wrongdoing.

“To enhance public safety and increase investors’ confidence, I approved the use of body cameras and mass training of its use for law enforcement personnel in Lagos.

“This move will increase the transparency and accountability in the activities of our law enforcement agencies,” Sanwo-Olu introduced in a Twitter put up, sharing footage from the occasion.

The governor additionally accepted mass coaching for the state’s legislation enforcement personnel on using body-worn cameras, forward of the deployment of the digital instruments for safety operations throughout the state.

The three-day coaching, to start in May, shall be facilitated by the Lagos State Law Enforcement Training Institute (LETI), headed by Falade Oyekan.

After the coaching, all state-funded legislation enforcement officers can be mandated to put on physique cameras for his or her operations.
